Please join Earth Ministry/Washington Interfaith Power & Light for a series of town hall community gatherings around Washington to learn more about how to move beyond coal and support healthier energy sources. The town halls will be hosted in Seattle, Redmond, Bainbridge Island, and Vancouver.
GoGreen '10 is a one day sustainability conference for business in Seattle on Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 built to motivate, inspire, and educate business owners to "go green" and become more sustainable.
Join us on the eve of Earth Day to hear distinct voices from a variety of faith traditions dialogue around environmental sustainability. Panelists include former Earth Ministry staff member Mike Schut and the School of Theology and Ministry's Dr. Cynthia Moe-Lobeda!
Awards and prizes to businesses, agencies, and schools with the most members getting to work or school by green modes on Earth Day 2010 (April 22). Green modes include bike, bus, walking, carpooling and other low-energy transportation. Turn in a form to your designated rep. Fare free Valley Transit service all day Thursday!

Learn about evaluating your garden site, drawing plans, site considerations, design principles and approaches, plant selection, and more, with a focus on Northwest native plants.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the chorus will perform director Fred West's environmental oratorio, "Upon this Land," a composition for chorus, quartet of soloists, brass quintet, woodwinds, and percussion. The concert is open to all ages and will be held at Town Hall Seattle. Advance tickets are $15.00 and are available by calling (206) 264-5532. Day of tickets will be $20.00 at the door.
Native plants grown from locally collected seed are the corner stone of conservation and ecological restoration. Learn about and actively participate in growing native plants for stream and wetland restoration projects. On going activities include starting plants from seed and cuttings, and transplanting and maintaining nursery stock.

team up with the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust for the first ever Women in the Woods event.
Want to do some good for the environment and have a little outdoor fun at the same time? People for Puget Sound will be sponsoring an outdoor work party on Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Picnic Point near Mukilteo. Volunteers will be helping clean up this special park on the Mukilteo shoreline. We'll be ripping out invasive plants like ivy, blackberry and stinky bob! Join the Sound Stewards for a day and do something good for Puget Sound!
This workshop is designed for people who have an interest in small-scale wind and solar systems for their home or business.

Join EarthCorps and the Green Seattle Partnership and Seattle Parks and Recreation as we work together to keep Ravenna Park healthy!
Have lots of fun volunteering for the Bicycle Alliance at Bike Works Kids Bike Swap on May 8th from 10AM-4PM at Genesee Playfield in SE Seattle. Volunteer for a two hour shift or longer. We will need the most help in the morning. Combine it with a bike ride or check out the Georgetown Flower and Garden Show afterwards.

Annual Sweep cleanup event
Over 200 volunteers in kayaks, row boats and motorized craft remove 2-3 tons of trash annually from Lake Union and Portage Bay. Volunteers are treated to a picnic lunch provided by event sponsors and Puget Soundkeeper Alliance.
Come join KingCD, Longfellow Creek Watershed Council and the Green Seattle Partnership in their efforts to restore one of the last salmon streams in Seattle. Come pitch a hand planting native trees and shrubs to improve water quality and wildlife habitat. Help out removing invasive species such as Ivy and Blackberry that displace native species or spread some mulch to keep these invasive from coming back. Come out and enjoy our local greenspaces and lend a hand improving them!
People for Puget Sound will be holding an outdoor work party and free barbeque on Saturday, May 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at Jetty Island in Everett. Volunteers are needed to help the Port of Everett and People for Puget Sound clean up Jetty Island in Everett! We'll be ripping out invasive weeds and picking up garbage on the beach. Volunteers will be celebrated with a free barbeque at the Marina following the event at noon!
