Puget Sound area off Hwy 2. This trail is a great day hike of only 1.5 miles to the lake. We'll work mainly on repairing a section trail about 0.5 in that was damaged when a tree fell and its rootwad took the trail with it. We'll remove the rootwad and repair the trail.
Olympic National Forest. This hiker-only trail traverses the Buckhorn Wilderness, climbing to Fifty-Fifty Pass at 5050 feet at the head of the South Fork of Tunnel Creek. The work will include clearing, tread work and general trail maintenance on the beginning portion of the trail.
Hwy 530 near Darrington. You'll find old growth trees, moss-covered logs, the sound of the river, and spectacular waterfalls along this trail. We'll address any repairs that the trail main have sustained during the winter along with annual maintenance, including clearing and drainage maintenance.
National Trails Day. Located off of Hwy 2, Barclay Lake Trail is one of the most popular non-wilderness hikes in this district. Join us as we tackle any maintenance projects that the winter storms have left behind. This will be a fun Nat'l Trails Day project and is the first of many projects within this district that WTA will be a part of this summer.
National Trails Day! Southwest Washington. In 2006 WTA crews began construction of a connector trail linking existing trails via a traverse across Hardy Ridge. A second additional new trail segment will tie this new Hardy Ridge Loop to the Hardy Creek Trail creating two new loop hikes in Beacon Rock's backcountry trail system. This weekend, in celebration of National Trails Day, volunteers will officially open these routes for hiking and honor the contributions of hundreds of volunteers who have contributed to this project over nearly four years!
Tell me more Show Map Spokane County Parks - Iller Creek Conservation Area No Eastern Washington - Spokane Area. We'll continue with trail improvements and maintenance within Spokane's Iller Creek Conservation Area. The current project is to reconstruct a steeply eroded section of trail that runs along the east ridge of Iller Creek Trail near the bottom. The work will involve clearing the trail corridor, digging new tread, brushing, drainage work and other activities.
