Taylor Mountain Work Party

Issaquah Alps. WTA is helping King County develop a comprehensive trail system within Taylor Mountain Forest. When completed, there will be trails along the Holder and Carey Creeks, as well as some great walks through the woods. We're currently working on new trail construction.

Larrabee State Park Work Party

Northwest WA near Bellingham. WTA will spend this winter improving lowland trails in the area, including several trails within Larrabee State Park. The work will focus on general maintenance including improving drainage in places where the tread is muddy, as well as possible trail realignment.

Peabody Creek Trail - Olympics

Olympic National Park. An easy trail to get to from Hwy 101, it begins at the Olympic Park Visitors Center and gently leads into the foothills. WTA hopes you'll join to provide some maintenance for this trail that provides some forest solitude just outside of Port Angeles.

Tiger Mountain - Chirico Trail

This popular hiking trail is frequented by paragliders who like to launch from the top and day hikers looking for a great view. This trail gains 1,700' in just 1.5 miles and therefore needs support to keep it from failing. Rock walls need to be rebuilt as the trail moves up toward Pooh Pooh Point, as well as some steps installed.

Squak Mountain - East RidgeTrail

Issaquah Alps Area. We'll continue work on the East Ridge Trail which extends from Sycamore Access Trail to the East Side Trail. Work will annual maintenance and major tread upgrades to improve drainage.

Puget Sound Area. I-90 exit 18. Connected to the new Issaquah Highlands development is a beautiful forest. Within this forest we're helping King County construct a trail that will eventually connect through to Duthie Hill Park from High Point. We are currently working on a neighborhood connector trail.

Elbo Creek Trail Work Party

Olympic Peninsula.

The Forest Service spared this area from logging and now it needs substantial maintenance to get it back in good shape for hikers. WTA will continue work to clear the trail of blowdown as well as work to repair the tread and a complete a re-route. There is a lot to be done to restore this wonderful forest hike.
